Time to Back-up Everything–How to Back-up Your Mailing List

The image ?http://www.cindysdesktop.com/wp-content/uploads/CoffeeLaptop.jpg? cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.Hey Cindy,

Are you feeling any better now? I hope so and am praying for you!

I wanted to ask how you how I would do a backup of my subscribers (their email addresses) on my subscribers list on Aweber and also is there a way to backup all my Gmail emails? I was thinking the other day that I’ve never written down my subscriber’s email addresses and thought there is probably a way to do that.

Thanks!
Beth

Hi Beth!

How wonderful to hear from you!

Thanks so much. I am still not 100%–still feeling weak—but, I am so much better! Thanks for praying. I can feel the prayers.  :) This stuff just zapped me!!

These are SUPER questions. I am going to also post this on my www.Families-in-Business.com site. I am sure that others may have this same question. If not, they may want a reminder to back-up their lists—at least annually. This is a great time to back up EVERYTHING—computers, websites, mailing lists, documents, email, etc. [Read more...]

Build a Business by Re-purposing Your Content

http://www.cindysdesktop.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/MomWriting.jpgRe-purposing your content makes good business sense. It’s a good way to squeeze out as much value as possible from your current content. And repurposing also helps your customers by providing fantastic content in a variety of ways. Best of all, you can take a simple idea and build your business from that idea.

Wondering how? It is easy! Recycle. There’s no need to just use great content once. Recycling your content benefits everyone in a way that builds your business while reaching those who learn best by different modalities–visual, auditory, hands-on. A good way to do this is to think about each piece of content and how you can reuse it to the max.

A few ideas may be:

#1 – Take a special download report and use the content for article distribution.
The report is only available for download on your website but you can use several articles within the report to distribute to article directories. That content will then work to bring you new subscribers to your site. When they come, you will have visitors who are looking for more of your ideas. [Read more...]

How Do I Get Traffic to My Site????

http://www.cindysdesktop.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/MomWriting.jpgWhat is your biggest blogging struggle?

Recently I asked our Blog and Podcast eGroup what their biggest struggles/needs as a blogger/podcaster were. I came away with some great feedback. One of the top questions was, “How do I get traffic to my site?”

A blog without readers is pretty much useless. If you’ve been blogging for a while and have only been getting a trickle of viewers to your posts, you need to put a traffic building plan into action. Building traffic is just as an important skill to bloggers as writing quality posts is. Many bloggers are terrific at creating content but don’t know a thing about building traffic. Here is a quick guide to the five most popular (and most effective) traffic building techniques.

1. Get SOCIAL!

Social networking and blogging go hand in hand. Your blog posts can be distributed across social networking channels in many different ways. Sign up for Twitter and tweet about your posts as soon as they are added to you blog. Update your Facebook status with a link to your new blog posts. Submit your stories to [Read more...]

How To Create A "Buyers Only" List by Jimmy D. Brown

By Jimmy D. Brown

Content is king. It gets to wear the crown. And sit on the throne. And rule the world. When it comes to establishing credibility, gaining trust and producing sales, content is royalty.

While I would never suggest abandoning the concept of delivering high quality content to your subscribers, there is another type of list composed of subscribers who couldn’t care less about content.

“What is this type of list?” you ask.

- > The “announcement list.”

I’ve been teaching about the “announcement” list since at least 2002 (on record at an event). And, yet, it’s a widely untapped asset in most email marketing circles.

The main reason is: nobody’s teaching it. And so, nobody knows anything about it, let alone how to effectively create one of these lists. [Read more...]
